So many questions, so little time…

In the last two weeks, a group of 28 high school students from Globala gymnasiet in Stockholm stayed in Mostar. It was a study visit during which they explored the cultural, social, and political context of Mostar and Bosnia and Herzegovina, all to write their final papers based on gathered information and experiences.

Global College visit to LDA Mostar

LDA Mostar was one of many associations they visited in Mostar. The partner for Swedish guests in Bosnia and Herzegovina was the Youth Development Institute KULT, which recognized the Local Democracy Agency as an organization that has been a significant actor in the process of developing a democratic society for almost 20 years. Thus, 28 students accompanied by their professors began their study of Mostar at the Local Democracy Agency. The time allocated for the discussion passed quickly, and there was actually not enough of it – such was the productivity and interest in the meeting with our Selma Žuljević.

Discussion with students of Global College

In addition to discussing the opportunities in the city, specifically through talking about what LDA Mostar does, the Project Mostar – Spaces to Activate and Rejuvenate was presented. We took the opportunity to involve the beneficiaries of the Project in the entire story – for field visits, we recommended several associations, organizations, and individuals who, each in their own field, work for the improvement of the local community. Students ended up in visiting the Center for the elderly Mostar, association of women “Vrba“ and „Univerzum,“ artists’ association „Zanart,“ and associations „Vedri osmijeh“ and „Sensus.“
