The National Democratic Institute and the Local Democracy Agency Mostar organized the first Current Class with young parliamentarians in Mostar, on June 16, 2021 in the period from 12:00 to 13:30 in the Hotel Mostar.

Within the program Supporting Political Pluralism and Good Governance Processes in BiH, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and implemented by the National Democratic Institute, during 2020. an informal group of young MPs from the FBiH was established.

The goal of this group of young elected officials is to change the practice and improve direct communication with citizens, increase transparency and bring their personal work and the work of parliaments closer to young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In partnership with NDI, and within the project “Regional Youth Compact for Europe” funded by the European Union, the Local Democracy Agency Mostar contributed to the organization of events by including panelists from civil society organizations, which opened up a dialogue on issues of importance to young people in Mostar. The Regional Youth Compact for Europe project aims to strengthen civil society organizations to participate more effectively in reforms related to the EU accession negotiation process, dialogue with governments and policy influence through consolidating platforms for regional cooperation, fostering a participatory culture and promoting active citizenship, government responsibilities to citizens and society and fostering a common European identity.

The “Current Class” was an opportunity for questions and answers outside the parliamentary benches, discussion of initiatives and open dialogue with various target groups including students, civil society representatives, media representatives, the professional public and the like.

At the Current Class in Mostar, panelists were:

Lana Prlić (SDP BiH), Member of the FBiH Parliament
Mario Mikulić (HDZ BiH), Member of the FBiH Parliament
Adisa Kokić Hinović (SDA), Member of the FBiH Parliament
